After a distinguished record of nearly 60 years in New Jersey, providing resident health and rehabilitation services for Workmen’s Circle members, a new facility is under construction. The project is taking shape under the professional leadership of Marshall I. Goldberg, President/CEO of the newly named Village for Healthcare and Rehabilitation of Workmen’s Circle. Planning is being guided by “The Village’s” Board of Directors, led by Chairperson, Dr. Martin Krupnick. The Village, when completed in 2009, will be a 152 bed Long Term Care Facility (with potential for an additional 28 beds) and an adjacent 40 apartment Assisted Living Facility on a 14 acre site on Halls Mill Road in Freehold, NJ (Monmouth County). Each facility will be housed in freestanding, separate structures.
Assisted Living Apartments
The Assisted Living complex features one and two bedroom apartments on two floors, with convenient support core and commons areas including a central diningroom with fireplace and resident amenities. The Village design is based on a “Greenhouse” model of senior care, with clusters of apartments built around family style pantries, activity areas and living rooms with access to an enclosed courtyard or balcony.
Long Term Care and Rehabilitation
Our Long Term Care building features all private rooms, similarly designed in clusters that include a care station, medication distribution, and linen storage.
In addition, a separate 32 bed dementia unit is planned, arranged in 8 to 12 bed clusters around a strolling path, sun room and dining room. None of the residential sections will have typical long corridors usually found in healthcare facilities.
Administration and Community Services
The Village’s administrative offices will be onsite and the entire complex will include a large multipurpose room for social events, retail stores for residents and their guests, therapy and central support services, and a library/media room with fireplace. Open to the general community in Monmouth County, The Village will provide An Adult Medical Day Care Center accommodating 50 adults, along with on facility Doctors' Offices.
Kosher meals for residents, prepared in our state of the art kitchen, will be homelike and restaurant style, and will serve both Assisted Living residents and Long Term Care patients; in addition, a Dairy Café will be open to the community.
