The Workmen's Circle/Arbeter Ring is New York's leading center for Yiddish instruction. We offer more Yiddish classes than anyone, from some of the world's foremost instructors.

Workmen's Circle classes fill up fast, and space is limited, so register now!  We offer day and evening classes, from beginner to advanced levels. Each class consists of 12 sessions. 

Classes take place at our brand-new Garment District headquarters and learning space at 247 W. 37th St. near Eighth Avenue, convenient to nearly all subway, bus, and commuter rail lines. Parking is available nearby.

Whatever your Yiddish proficiency, from absolute beginner to total maven,
we've got a class for you!

Beginners: This class is mostly conversational. No background in Yiddish is necessary.
Beginners 2: For students who already have basic grammar, reading and writing skills.
Advanced Beginners: For students with some Yiddish knowledge. The class includes conversation and basic reading.
Intermediate: For students who have completed our beginners class or have moderate Yiddish reading and conversational skills.
Intermediate 2: A continuation of our Intermediate class.
Advanced Intermediate: For students who read Yiddish and have strong conversational skills.
Advanced: For nearly fluent Yiddish speakers and readers. The class is taught entirely in Yiddish.
