June 9, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, after Donald Trump was indicted by the Department of Justice on 37 counts stemming from seven felony charges for willfully retaining documents with national defense information, obstructing efforts by federal agents to recover the documents, and conspiracy, members of the Not Above the Law coalition released the following joint statement:

“In the United States, no one is above the law—not even a former president.

“The rule of law is a basic principle—everyone must equally abide by our nation’s laws, and those laws should be equally enforced.
