The Workers Circle mourns the loss of Madelon (Maddy) Braun, z"l

May 29, 2022

Statement by Workers Circle by Richard Rumelt, President, Ann Toback, CEO:

The Workers Circle mourns the loss of Madelon (Maddy) Braun on May 29, 2022.

The first woman elected as President of the Workers Circle, Maddy was born into a family of Workers Circle leaders, and she spent her lifetime engaged in service to our member community.  An enthusiastic Camp Kinder Ring camper and counsellor, Maddy continued to be a passionate supporter of Camp, serving as Board President and in many other leadership roles for over a decade.

During her two terms as Workers Circle President from 2010-2014, Maddy led our century-plus organization through a time of incredible growth, overseeing our evolution into a Jewish culture and social justice organization, with a new vision rooted in our founders’ heritage values.  Maddy lead both the Workers Circle and Camp Kinder Ring through periods of great change, and her vison will continue to be a part of our impact on the world for generations to come.

Our community extends its deepest condolences to Maddy’s husband Phillip, her daughter, Jessica, and son, Andrew, and the entire Braun family.
