Position Overview
We are seeking a Temporary Marketing and Communications Manager to ensure continuity of marketing operations during a coverage period. This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented marketing professional with a strong eye for design, a passion for creative storytelling, and experience executing digital and social media campaigns. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Manager will step in quickly to manage ongoing workstreams, execute existing strategies, and collaborate closely across departments — including Social Justice and Yiddish culture — to produce visually compelling materials and effective campaigns. The ideal candidate is a strong executor who can balance multiple projects, maintain focus and follow-through, and support integrated marketing, digital communications, and audience engagement efforts with creativity and precision.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy and Campaign Execution
Execute and manage existing marketing strategies and campaigns to support organizational goals.
Develop clear, compelling messaging and visual assets for fundraising initiatives, newsletters, and the annual Impact Report.
Collaborate with internal teams and partner organizations to deliver high-quality creative materials.
Support the planning and rollout of integrated digital campaigns.
Social Media and Digital Communications
Manage day-to-day social media activity, including content creation, scheduling, and audience engagement.
Write engaging copy for social media and promotional materials.
Monitor platform trends, algorithm changes, and digital best practices to ensure content remains relevant and effective.
Execute digital campaigns that strengthen brand visibility and community connection.
Audience Targeting and List Management
Support targeted communications for specific audience segments aligned with organizational priorities.
Creative Storytelling and Branding
Design graphics and produce photo and video content for social media and digital promotions.
Edit and optimize video content for digital platforms.
Ensure all materials align with established brand voice, tone, and visual guidelines.
Identify timely content opportunities connected to cultural moments and digital trends.
Administrative and Cross-Departmental Collaboration
Coordinate with staff across departments to meet marketing needs efficiently and on deadline.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
3–4 years of experience in marketing or communications.
Strong writing and editing skills with a creative and strategic mindset.
Experience managing social media platforms and digital marketing tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Google Analytics).
Familiarity with design tools such as Canva and email marketing platforms such as EveryAction CRM.
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or similar).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience executing storytelling or mission-driven marketing campaigns.
Experience with using AI skills to compliment the storytelling
Nonprofit or advocacy organization experience.
Portfolio of relevant design, video, or digital marketing work.
Experience using analytics to evaluate and improve campaign performance.
Interest in community engagement and values-based work.
Compensation
$50.00 per hour. plus benefits depending on hours.
Work hours
Contract Hours: 8 weeks
Schedule: 20 – 35 hours per week
