New York, NY – Today, members of the Workers Circle voted to elect Bradley Alter, Judy Fishman, Malky Goldman, and Lewis Jones to the Board of Directors. Each has been elected to serve three-year terms.

“I am delighted to congratulate Bradley, Judy, Malky, and Lewis on their election to our Board. I look forward to partnering with them and the entire Board to fight back against anti-democratic forces that are hard at work across our country,” said Ann Toback, Chief Executive Officer of the Workers Circle. “There is much work to do to protect the hard-won freedoms we have secured and expand the rights afforded to us all. This group of Board members is well-equipped to help us move our mission forward.”  They are also a group that is well-connected to our Yiddish culture and history. It is exciting to be adding a Yiddish activist as well as a member with a background in Yiddish historical research onto our Board.

“I am excited to welcome Bradley, Judy, Malky, and Lewis to the Board of Directors,” said Zeev Dagan, President of the Workers Circle. “This dedicated group will play an integral part in both the social justice and Jewish cultural work ahead, and I look forward to working with them. It is indeed an exciting time for our organization, and this Board is well-positioned to support the crucial work ahead.”

Bradley Alter currently serves as the United Federation of Teachers (UFT) Middle Schools Division Member Representative, and is grounded in the understanding that educators want what students need. Prior to his current position, Bradley taught special education in Brooklyn, where he was both a founding faculty member at his school and UFT Chapter Leader. In his current position with UFT, Bradley's work takes him from member organizing at the school level all the way to citywide labor management. Additionally, Bradley has done extensive work organizing union campaigns. He is also proud to serve as the recording secretary of the UFT Jewish heritage committee and was a founding member of AFT's Jewish Heritage Caucus. Bradley and his wife Adele are proud parents of a Brooklyn Workers Circle School student.

Serving the marketing and communication needs of the dental laboratory community has been Judy Fishman’s core mission for over 40 years. A visionary industry leader known for her integrity and optimism, she understands the needs of this market and develops practical solutions to meet them by instilling a company-wide culture of continual brainstorming that keeps innovation thriving at her 18-person company based in Newtown, Connecticut. Apart from the business world, in years past, Judy was the founding chair of her temple’s social action committee and, later on, became the newsletter editor and membership chair of her local chapter of Hadassah.

Malky Goldman is an actor, artist, and writer currently located in New York City. She was born and raised in a Yiddish-speaking home in Jerusalem, Israel, before relocating to the United States and graduating from Hunter College with a Degree in Fine Arts. Her creative portfolio spans several visual media disciplines that include film, theater, and painting, and sometimes a combination of all three. Her films include a Chasidic Horror film called The Vigil (Blumhouse/BoulderLight) directed by Keith Thomas, which premiered at TIFF and distributed by IFC. She plays Helen in The Performance, a film by Shira Piven, and appeared in the Netflix show Unorthodox and the HBO show High Maintenance. She stars in the film Castles, with the late Lynn Cohen, premiering at the New York Jewish Film Festival. She has previously appeared in a couple of stage productions, such as playing Hedda Gabler, starring as Daisy in the Yiddish production of Rhinoceros by the New Yiddish Rep, and in the critically acclaimed NYR production of the God of Vengeance.
