Yiddish Song: Food and Cooking in Yiddish Song with Zisl Slepovitch

$25.00

Vinter is a vunderlekhe tsayt. Winter is a wonderful time, when people often stay indoors and cook more and more intensively than during other seasons. For this season, this workshop will cover the topic of food and cooking in Yiddish songs, as seen from different perspectives, in a diverse body of repertoire from different historical periods. Educational, fun, and appetizing (most of the time). You will be provided with a PDF booklet with sheet music (music sight reading skill is not required but is helpful) and lyrics in Yiddish – transliteration and English translation.  The workshop is intended for a wide circle of participants with no prior knowledge is required, other than passion for singing, love for Yiddish, and good sense of humor.
