Course Goals: To learn basic spoken Yiddish in a supportive setting. We will emphasize listening comprehension in the beginning until students have acquired the necessary vocabulary and confidence to speak on their own. For complete beginners to those who know “a bisl” and want to strengthen their yesod (foundation).

Course Tools: YiddishPOP.com, chapters 1 and 2, plus supplemental materials provided by the instructor.

Additional Info: No previous knowledge of the alef-beys (the Yiddish alphabet) required.
