Course Goals: This course is a continuation of Beginner I and is designed to further develop foundational skills in comprehension, reading, writing, speaking, and grammar. Students will expand their vocabulary and gain greater confidence in using Yiddish in basic interactions.
Course Tools: We will cover Units 2–5 of Colloquial Yiddish by Lily Kahn, supplemented with additional reading and listening materials provided by the instructor. The textbook can be purchased here; audio files, here.
Additional Info: This course is intended for students who have completed the previous Beginner I course or have equivalent basic knowledge of Yiddish and the alef-beys (the Yiddish alphabet).
