Course Goals: A language course for students who have completed at least one other Yiddish language class, this class is also suitable for more advanced beginners who would like to go over the basics and improve their spoken fluency. We will learn Yiddish songs, read extracts of stories and plays, and also look at some archival materials like posters, guidebooks, and advertisements. Other material will be taken from the Yiddish textbook In Eynem, and select materials may also be taken from other textbooks depending on the needs and previous experience of the students. Purchase of In Eynem is recommended but not required — all materials will be provided by the instructor. Students are expected to know the alef-beys (the Yiddish alphabet).
