Course Goals: Aaron Alexander's Klezmer Workshop will focus on favorite repertoire from classic collections including Beregovski, Kostakowsky, Magid, as well as occasionally learning modern klezmer tunes in the classic style. We learn repertoire, forms, accompaniment, ornamentation, and everyone has a chance to play solo if they want. We always have play-along mp3s at the end at different tempos and play along with them together. Sheet music in different keys is provided. Alexander has been playing, recording, and teaching Klezmer and Yiddish music for over 30 years. He loves to teach for the Workers Circle.
Course Tools: Charts in proper keys will be provided as well as play-along mp3s in different tempi.
