Course Goals: Read an array of humorous and satirical stories retold by Trunk and explore aspects of real Jewish wisdom alleged to be found in a small town near Lublin.
Course Tools: Students will prepare for in-class reading and discussion of Trunk's highly praised Yiddish prose and often humorous sketches of his Jewish neighbors. The book is available for free PDF download here.
Additional Info: The class will be conducted in Yiddish on a level suitable for upper intermediate and advanced Yiddish students. This is NOT a repetition of the Winter-Spring 2025 semester course.
