Course Goals: Sign up for the Yiddish song workshop with Zisl Slepovitch. Enjoy learning songs from the Yiddish folklore, Yiddish theatre, and the legacy of the authors of various periods. Over the five sessions, you will deepen your understanding of Yiddish song, add to your repertoire, and improve your ability to deliver the performance, whatever your Yiddish language or music skills are. Every song comes with comprehensive commentary, and every session will allow for Q&A. You will receive a separate PDF songbook for each session, complete with Roman-character/YIVO-style transliteration and English translation.
Course Tools: You will receive a printable PDF book before each session.
Additional Info: Open to everyone, no previous experience necessary. Ability to read music and knowledge of Yiddish will help but are not required.
