Following a press conference with the Workers Circle's Director of Social Justice Noelle Damico, Immigrant Rights Organizer Arianne Betancourt, and families of detainees, USA TODAY is reporting on gravely ill ICE detainees in South Florida facing possible deportation to African countries where they have no ties.

We're continuing to amplify the voices of detained immigrants and their families and advocate for their rights.

No one should be denied medical care or access to legal counsel.

“We are hearing that once they are deported, they are being sent to prison camps. And they do not have the right to leave. They are being extorted.”

– Arianne Betancourt, Immigrant Rights Organizer at the Workers Circle
