Sign and share our Gen Z for Democracy petition

If you’re 30 or under, sign and share our Gen Z for Democracy petition calling on Congress to pass federal voting rights and democracy reform legislation. Share the petition on social media, and send it to your firends! Or, if you’re over 30, send it to the 30 and unders in your life and to invite them to sign.

Every eligible voter deserves to have their vote counted. That’s why we’re working alongside our partner at Election Protection to recruit nonpartisan volunteers who serve as voters’ first line of defense against confusing voting rules, outdated infrastructure, rampant misinformation, and needless obstacles to the ballot box. There’s a role for everyone — whether it’s helping voters from home, assisting voters safely in person, or tracking online disinformation. Sign up today.

Poll workers are critical to helping maintain safe in-person voting for communities without reliable access to mail service, voters with disabilities, voters who need language assistance, or voters who simply want to cast their ballot in person as they always have. Poll workers help ensure early voting and facilitate nonpartisan assistance at the polls. Support the process of democracy! Sign up to be a poll worker.

Do you know enough civics to pass the U.S. Citizenship test? Do you know how to register/pre-register to vote and vote in your state? Do you know how to spot disinformation online? Test out your knowledge via fun online quizzes, created by our partner organization the League of Women Voters. And help others become informed by sharing it widely.

Help Voters in Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, Texas, and Ohio Get the ID they need to vote

Voter ID laws silence millions of Americans. Harsh Voter ID requirements put in place by many states across the country, cause confusion and create unnecessary hurdles especially for voters of color, older voters, and younger voters. That’s why the Workers Circle has partnered up with Vote Riders, a non-partisan powerhouse that helps voters know what ID requirements are in their state and helps them obtain them so they can register and vote. Stay tuned for our next letter writing party date!

The Workers Circle is committed to grassroots and direct action as we fight to ensure free and fair elections and strengthen our democracy.  Sign up for our social justice list to receive the Activist Update, and never miss a chance to join us at a protest or rally.

Postcard, phonebank and text bank to combat racist voter suppression laws

We work in partnership with the Center for Common Ground, a Black-led organization that fights voter suppression and empowers underserved communities to connect voters of color with the information they need to vote by mail and to vote early in person. Our calls, texts, and postcards to voters of color support grassroots efforts by the NAACP, Black Voters Matter, and Mi Familia Vota.

Voters of color have been targeted by state voter suppression laws across the country. Join the Workers Circle in sending postcards to Black voters in Georgia with crucial information they need to cast their ballots for the Georgia primary election.

Join us for Workers Circle phone banks every Wednesday from 7:00-8:00 PM ET.

Help fight voter suppression! Join us each Wednesday as we call Black voters in Virginia to provide crucial, non-partisan information about early voting and polling locations as they prepare for their state’s general elections on Nov. 8. No experience is necessary, and you can make calls from anywhere.

We work in partnership with the Center for Common Ground to ensure our calls support the efforts of local grassroots organizations who are educating and mobilizing Black voters in vote-suppressed states across the South. Sign up for phonebanking here.

Textbanking

We’ll resume textbanking in summer 2024.

Write a Letter to the Editor

Lawmakers pay close attention to their local newspapers as do your neighbors. Writing a letter to the editor is a great way to educate the public and to insist on a democracy that works for all. Check out our state voting rights toolkit which has a sample letter, information on why federal voting rights legislation is needed, as well as links to learn about your state’s voting rights laws and pending legislation.

Travel to Virginia with the Workers Circle and the Center for Common Ground to go door-to-door and talk with Black voters to ensure they have the critical, non-partisan, early voting information they need. Sign up for this action here.
