COVID PREVENTION PROTOCOL PLAN FOR YIDDISHLAND 2024

CARING FOR OUR COMMUNITY – TOGETHER

We look forward to welcoming you to Yiddishland 2024. We have implemented the following measures to ensure the safety of all participants and staff.

The Workers Circle COVID Prevention Protocol Plan for 2024 is in line with the recommendations by the CDC and the New York State Department of Health.  Please note this plan could change between now and Yiddishland in August 2024, depending on Federal, State, local recommendations, and national case counts and positivity rates.

All Yiddishland 2024 participants are expected to act responsibly and cooperate for a safe week at Yiddishland.

PRIOR TO ARRIVING AT YIDDISHLAND 2024

  • Every participant must complete a pre-arrival form stating they do not and have not had any COVID symptoms (coughing, fever, sore throat, headache, overall malaise) immediately prior to Yiddishland.

  • We prefer every participant at Yiddishland to have received the bivalent booster vaccine.  Note: If a new vaccine with an updated formulation is released at least 45 days before Yiddishland begins, we would prefer everyone to receive the updated booster at least 2 weeks before Yiddishland.

  • Within 3 days before arriving at Yiddishland, every participant (including children) will be required to take a COVID test. Please bring with you the results of a negative test. I can be an at-home test.

  • Those who had a diagnosed case of COVID within 90 days prior to Yiddishland and are concerned about a false-positive test, should contact sbrukner@circle.org.

  • If you cannot afford rapid tests, please email sbrukner@circle.org for assistance.

  • We request all participants to be respectful of others and take extra precautions prior to attending Yiddishland, including masking in crowded settings.

  • We expect international participants will follow COVID travel protocols, and all US Federal, State and CDC regulations regarding entry into the US.

DURING YIDDISHLAND 2024

  • Duty to self-monitor: We ask all Yiddishland participants to do a health self-evaluation each morning, and notify Yiddishland organizers if you feel sick or are experiencing any symptoms such as fever, cough, headache, sore throat or overall malaise. We recommend everyone bring a rapid COVID test. We will have a small number of tests on site.

  • Masks may be required at some indoor events.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID

  • Anyone who tests positive before Yiddishland and is not able to attend, will receive a 50% discount.

  • If anyone tests positive after arriving at Yiddishland, no refund will be issued after arrival.

  • Anyone testing positive for COVID while at Yiddishland, will be asked to isolate and arrange for transportation off-site as soon as reasonably possible for the safety of the other participants. If requested, we can recommend local motels.
