Eidel Malowicki
Eidel Malowicki is a native Yiddish speaker who grew up in the Hasidic community. Since 2024, Eidel has been teaching Hasidic Yiddish language and culture for YUNG YiDiSH WiEN in cooperation with the University of Vienna’s Summer Language School, as well as for the University of Chicago in cooperation with the University of Vienna. In 2025, she began teaching at Yiddish Summer Weimar, and since 2026, she has been working for JIFE (Jüdisches Institut für Erwachsenenbildung). In 2023, she co-founded a regular shmueskrayz (Yiddish conversation group) with Phillip Schwarz through YUNG YiDiSH WiEN. Academically, Eidel explores Hasidism in Vienna through an ethnographic lens. As a tour guide, she also gives tours on Jewish and Hasidic Vienna, combining the past and present to explore how Jewish life continues to develop and transform.
