ICE Out for Good Weekend of Action
On Wednesday, January 7th, an American citizen, Renee Nicole Good, was killed by ICE in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This killing is part of a broader pattern of unchecked violence and abuse carried out by federal immigration enforcement agencies against members of our communities.
The Workers Circle is joining with a broad coalition of groups across the country for a coordinated ICE Out For Good Weekend of Action on Saturday, January 10th, and Sunday, January 11th, to demand accountability, honor the life lost, and make visible the human cost of ICE’s actions.

Ain't No Back to a Merry-Go-Round: Film Screening and Workers Circle Q&A
Five Black students rode a segregated carousel in 1960, igniting one of the earliest organized interracial civil rights protest in US history. Ain’t No Back to a Merry-Go-Round is the untold story of the Jews they marched with, the Nazis they provoked, the Congressmen they inspired, and Civil Rights leaders they became. The Workers Circle plays an important role in this award-winning film. Join us at the IFC Center for a screening to be followed with a Q/A featuring filmmaker Ilana Tractman, Workers Circle CEO Ann Toback, and activist Rev. Mark A. Thompson, moderated by justice advocate Joan Grangenois-Thomas.
Threading Stones: Soul Candles for Elul
In this workshop/walking tour through the Workers Circle section of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, we will learn about Jewish history and how to perform the soul candle rituals using translated Yiddish ethnographic studies and memoirs.

Trip to Yiddishland
The Workers Circle’s Trip to Yiddishland is our seven day, six night retreat. This trip features five levels of Yiddish classes, dance and klezmer, theater and music workshops, concerts, and children’s program.

The Museum of Jewish Heritage invites you to a day-long Mishpachah Festival focused on Ashkenazi heritage that will celebrate and explore Jewish genealogy, heritage, and immigration with JewishGen, the Museum’s Jewish Genealogical Research Division, and other partners. Overlooking the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, the stories of Jewish families and experiences around the world through time will converge in New York City at the Museum of Jewish Heritage.
